Hot Springs Village was once described as a community of lakes surrounded by land. And it's still true today.  Hot Springs Village boasts 10 man-made recreational lakes that offer some of the finest fishing and boating in central Arkansas.  One of the best attractions of the lakes is that they are only open to Hot Springs Village Residents.  No need to worry about your favorite fishing spot being crowded.  The almost 2,000 acres of lakes are home to bass, crappie, catfish, and bream.  Two marinas serve Lake DeSoto and Lake Balboa.  Beaches with swimming and picnic facilities are located on DeSoto, Cortez, and Balboa.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission stocks Village lakes and monitors their progress. The result is bass, crappie, catfish and more, so big you don't have to exaggerate their size. Just in case you forget your fishing supplies, or perhaps your boat, we have two marinas that rent pontoon, paddle or fishing boats, as well as canoes, and they have fishing equipment, bait and fishing licenses for sale.

Village Beaches are also a popular attraction, especially in the summer. Fill your shoes with sand or dip your toes in the lake. Don't miss our powder white sandy beaches on Balboa and Cortez.

Pavilions are also a popular gathering place in the spring, summer and fall. Our pavilions are used for family reunions, picnics, barbecues, and other social gatherings.

Personal Watercraft such as jet skies are NOT allowed on any of the Village’s lakes.

For more information on the rules and regulations of Village lakes, please pick up a copy of the Village Lakes: Guidelines and Information brochure. It is available at the POA Administration Building and both marinas. (A copy of the Hot Springs Village Information and Regulations is available from this website by clicking here.)
